Honda launches new Civic priced upwards of Rs 17.69 lakh

NEW DELHI: Japanese auto major Honda Cars Thursday launched the tenth generation Civic priced between Rs 17.69-22.29 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The new Civic come strapped with 1.8L petrol and 1.6L Diesel engines. Honda Cars India has already received over 1000 bookings for the Civic in the last 20 days. This is equivalent to two month of total sales in the segment. The Civic is the third launch for the company this fiscal, after entry sedan Amaze and premium sports utility vehicle CR-V. Gaku Nakanishi, president and chief executive officer, Honda Cars India, said, “The current financial year has been active and exciting for Honda. Three new products in three new segments helped strengthen our presence.” Till February, Honda Cars India grew volumes by 6.5%. The company will stay ahead of the market, Nakanishi said. With sales of 840000 units last year, Civic was the largest selling model for Honda globally in 2018.
