Maha twist: Fadnavis takes oath as CM, Ajit Pawar as his deputy

BJP sprung an early morning surprise with Devendra Fadnavis taking oath as the state chief minister and Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit joining him as his deputy.Till this morning, reports seemed to suggest the NCP, Congress and the Shiv Sena were close to forming a government in the state.Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the chief minister. Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar took oath as deputy CM.The state was plunged into a political crisis after the Sena broke its three-decade-long ties with the BJP after the latter declined to share the chief minister's post.The BJP and Sena, which fought the Assembly polls in alliance, had secured a comfortable majority by winning 105 and 56 seats, respectively, in the 288-member Assembly.
