SSR case: CBI probes Rhea's 45 min-visit to morgue

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) began its second day of investigation on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in Mumbai on Saturday. The CBI team arrived at the Cooper Hospital, where Rajput's mortal remains were taken for post-mortem. According to a Times Now report, actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was the late actor's girlfriend, was given unauthorised access to mortuary. It was reported that Rhea was given 45 minute-access to the morgue, which is being investigated by the CBI. The CBI team will collect the forensic data, and plans to questions the doctors about Rhea. Another CBI team left for investigating another part of the case from the DRDO office, while the other team is questioning Rajput's flatmate Siddharth Pithani, who reached the DRDO guest house around.The CBI has formed five teams that will look at different aspects of the case. While the First Information Report (FIR) is being looked at, the five teams will investigate the financial angle, co-ordinate with the Mumbai Police and the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) who were in-charge of the case, and look for evidences at the late actor's Bandra residence. The remaining two teams will scout various places to find clues related to the probe, and take statements from the witnesses.On Thursday, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh had said, "Of course, we will cooperate", when asked if they will cooperate with CBI team investigation. 77676429 The CBI team reached the Bandra Police Station for further investigation in the Rajput death's case on Friday. Earlier, the CBI team brought an unidentified person related to the case, to the guest house where they are staying, for questioning. On August 19, while holding that the FIR registered in Patna over the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was legitimate, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to investigate the case. The single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy also said the Bihar government was competent to recommend transferring the case to the CBI. The apex court also asked the Mumbai Police to hand over all the evidence collected so far in the case to the CBI. The state of Maharashtra refused the option to challenge the order, Justice Roy said. The CBI has registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others in connection with the actor's death after the Centre accepted Bihar Government's recommendation to transfer the probe in the matter from Patna. An FIR was registered in Patna on a complaint filed by KK Singh, Rajput's father, under sections related to abetment to suicide. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. 77633303
