JLL India CEO shares WFH style mantra

Ramesh Nair, CEO , JLL India, says he usually opts for an attire that’s simple yet not casual. How does he manage it? “I wear white shirts paired with formal trousers or jeans. During client interactions, I make sure to wear my tie. I feel dressing appropriately and formally can set the workmode mindset ,” he explains.White is beautifulThe one thing you can never go wrong with is the white shirt, he adds. “It’s effortless and versatile, a must-have in every wardrobe. I own close to 30 of these, but the next time I enter a store, I will still be tempted to pick another one up. Ever since I returned to the office in June, I have maintained a similar style: White, light blue or grey shirts, paired with jeans, and solid sneakers.”Style hackFor men, wearing a tie can be a game-changer, feels Nair. For video calls, his hack is to sit close to the window, facing the natural light. “Also, always start the call with a smile,” he suggests.Meeting codeFormal dressing is the unwritten code for video calls, says Nair. “For a strategy meeting with the team, I wear a light-coloured solid shirt, and occasionally polos on Fridays. If it’s a pitch or a networking call, I’d wear a formal shirt with a tie. I’ve started wearing my jacket to work, if there’s a webinar. And if I’m meeting friends for a virtual drink, it ’s always polos,” he says.Brand talkNair says his favourite loungewear brand is Ralph Lauren, as it’s a classic and yet captures the nuances of modern-day wearable fashion. Nair says he is a watch buff. “I missed wearing my watches [during the lockdown]. My outfits always felt incomplete without my watch. My favourite brand is Rolex, and I am currently wearing a Rolex Datejust,” he reveals.Mask itWhen it comes to his Covid-19 face mask, Nair says, “The company gave a high-quality and comfortable masks to all its employees. This is the one I wear.”77058773
