'Thank you, India': Rhea's dad slams son's arrest

In a fresh development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, model-turned-actress Rhea Chakraborty's father, Indrajit, on Saturday, issued a statement condemning the arrest of his 24-year-old son, Showik, by the Narotics Control Bureau (NCB) under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.In his statement, Indrajit said that 'next on the line' is his daughter, Rhea and he doesn't know who is next thereafter. "Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I'm sure next on the line is my daughter and I don't know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle-class family. But of course, for the sake of justice everything is justified. Jai hind," the statement from Lt Col Indrajit Chakraborty (Retd), read.Meanwhile, the NCB team reached Chakraborty's home in Mumbai on Sunday morning to serve her summons for joining probe."The team has gone to serve the summons for joining investigation. She(Rhea) can come on her own or she can come with the team," a senior official of the federal anti-narcotics agency said.Earlier on Saturday, Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda were sent to NCB custody for four days till September 9 by 64th Metropolitan Magistrate NN Joshi in Esplanade court. The NCB, on Saturday, had also arrested Dipesh Sawant, a member of Rajput's personal staff, in connection with a drugs probe linked to the actor's death. Sawant will be produced before the court on Sunday morning. The development came after the NCB arrested Showik and Miranda on Friday under various sections of the NDPS Act. The arrests came after over 10 hours of questioning of the two, who were brought to the agency's office in Ballard Estate area in Mumbai by the NCB sleuths after their premises were raided on Friday morning.76368891
