PM Modi reiterates slogan of 'Dawai bhi, Kadai bhi'

The Prime Minister today reiterated the slogan of 'Dawai bhi, Kadai bhi' on the 75th edition of Mann Ki Baat, as he asserted that all Indians need to adhere to the Covid guidelines strictly to win this long-drawn battle. "It was in March last year when we heard the term 'Janata Curfew' and it became an inspiration for the entire world as it was an extraordinary example of discipline," said the PM.The PM also expressed gratitude towards countrymen for listening to his monthly address and contributing immensely by giving their inputs on a regular basis. "We spoke to people across each and every corner of country and learnt about their extraordinary work. You too must have experienced that even in remotest corners of our country, there lies vast, unparalleled potential– myriad gems being nurtured, ensconced in lap of Mother India," said the PM as he thanked all the listeners and those who have given inputs for the programme. Appreciating the efforts of corona warriors, he said that they resolutely held on the whole year, without tiring, without halting. "Steadfastly, they endured to save the life of each and every citizen of the country", he added. He further said, "the world's biggest vaccination program is underway in India. In UP's Jaunpur, a 109-yr-old woman got herself vaccinated. Similarly, a 107-yr-old man in Delhi got himself vaccinated."The PM also lauded the contribution of science and students in converting waste into wealth. "We have all seen, heard and mention to others about converting waste into wealth! In the same way, efforts of converting waste to value are also being attempted. One such example is that of St. Teresa's College in Kochi, Kerala", he added.Highlighting the importance of his government's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' campaign, PM Modi said, "Many farmers are now getting into bee farming. The people of Gurdum village, Darjeeling have taken up honey bee farming and today there is a significant demand for honey harvested by them. This is also increasing their income. They're helping in Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign.""Marimuthu Yoganathan, a bus conductor in Coimbatore, gives free saplings to the bus travellers along with the ticket. He spends a large portion of his income on this. I congratulate him for his efforts," he added.The Prime Minister also extended wishes of the upcoming festive season to the countrymen."Be it Ugadi, or Puthandu, Gudi Padwa or Bihu, Navreh or Poila Boisakh or Baisakhi the whole country will be drenched in the colour of zeal, enthusiasm and new expectations. At this time, Kerala also celebrates Vishu. I extend best wishes to countrymen for these festivals," said PM Modi.
