Delhi Covid lockdown extended by a week

Amidst the surging number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi, CM Arvind Kejriwal today extended the lockdown by another week."We had imposed a 6-day lockdown in Delhi. The lockdown is being extended to next Monday till 5 am," said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.We have started a portal that will be updated every two hours by oxygen manufacturers, suppliers and hospitals for better management of oxygen supply. The Central and State teams are working together, said Kejriwal. Last week, Delhi CM had announced a six-day lockdown till Monday, calling it necessary with the city's resources at a breaking point facing an unprecedented Covid crisis. Delhi recorded 357 deaths in the last 24 hours, highest ever in a day. More than 24,000 fresh cases were reported. The positivity rate stood at 32.27 per cent. With the fresh cases, the national capital's caseload has surged to over 10 lakh and the death count stands at 13,898.
