Kejriwal seeks PM's help in Delhi's oxygen crisis

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help resolve the oxygen shortage issue in the national capital.The Prime Minister held an urgent meeting with chief ministers of worst-hit states today."There's a huge shortage of oxygen in Delhi. Will people of Delhi not get oxygen if there is no oxygen-producing plant here? Please suggest whom should I speak to in Central Govt when an oxygen tanker destined for Delhi is stopped in another state?" Delhi CM in meeting with the PM.The Delhi chief minister, according to PTI, suggested that the Centre should take over all oxygen plants and that trucks carrying oxygen should be escorted by Army. The Centre has issued fresh orders to all states that the supply of oxygen will not be hindered at any point.The Centre on Thursday invoked stringent provisions under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 to make it clear that no authority would be allowed to halt and divert oxygen carrying vehicles, adding that district authorities will be held responsible in case of any violation.
