Pune under mini lockdown from tomorrow

The administration in Pune district of Maharasthra announced a mini lockdown from tomorrow, in light of the huge spike in COVID-19 cases in the district. "A 12-hour night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am in Pune from tomorrow, 3rd April. Situation will be reviewed on next Friday," said Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao."Bars, hotels, restaurants to remain closed for 7 days, only home delivery will be allowed. No public function, except funerals and weddings, will be allowed; maximum 20 people in funerals and 50 are allowed in weddings. Order to come into effect from tomorrow," he added. Besides these restrictions all religious places will be completely closed for the next 7 days; schools and other educational institutes will also remain shut till April 30.Maharashtra and Mumbai reported their highest ever addition of Covid-19 cases in a single day on Thursday. Maharashtra added 43,183 infections and 249 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking its total caseload to 28.5 lakh and the fatalities to 54,898. This was the second day in a row that the state had added over 200 deaths.
