The fund preference is for quality businesses—cash flow generating, superior return on capital and ability to repay debt— with lower relative valuation in its sector. It currently favours cyclicals marginally ahead of stable businesses. The fund manager shuns large sector deviations from benchmark. The portfolio is well diversified but retains large positions in few top bets. A narrow market rally in past two years hurt its return profile and is yet to recover amid recent broader market uptick. The presence of a skilled veteran at the helm provides comfort but also needs to show improvement in return profile.Source: Value Research
