BJP gets into election mode in Uttarakhand

The BJP has now got into full election mode in the hill state of Uttarakhand. The party is organising a three-day Chintan Shivir starting June 27 in Ramnagar which would be attended by national organisation general secretary BL Santosh, state in-charge Dushyant Gautam along with state leaders. Apart from the chief minister and a few ministers, there would be around 40 party leaders attending the Shivir to deliberate on the upcoming assembly preparations and plan a roadmap.“We will discuss the upcoming elections and the party strategy during the three-day meeting,” Madan Kaushik, state BJP president told ET. “We have been carrying out Covid relief work and will continue to work for the people.”Santosh was on a two-day visit to the state last month and met ministers and state leaders.Sources told ET that the party has chalked out a detailed engagement plan for party workers till September this year. During the three-day meeting, work would be assigned to different leaders. The party workers would start a tree plantation drive from July 16, which will go on for a week.The organisational leaders have been instructed to appoint Panna Pramukhs and booth in-charges by September-end. Booth management has been a strong point of the BJP and the party wants to ensure early preparations at the ground level.Bhupender Yadav, BJP general secretary, will be spending three days in the state to review the organisational preparedness at the ground level starting July 31. During his stay, he will conduct meetings of booth, mandal and state committees, channelising the party cadre at all levels.During the Chintan Shivir meeting, leaders will also decide on the programmes of national president JP Nadda and other leaders.
