SRK's son seeks bail today before sessions court

Aryan Khan, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, will seek bail on Monday before the sessions court in a case pertaining to an alleged seizure of narcotic drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.Lawyer Satish Maneshinde had filed Khan's bail plea again on Friday after a metropolitan magistrate's court had rejected bail application, calling it 'not maintainable'. The case will come up on Monday at 11 am before Special NDPS Judge VV Patil.Khan, along with the seven accused in the rave party raids, spent the weekend in quarantine cells of the two prisons in Mumbai's Arthur Road Central Jail. The sources had told IANS that "they would not get any special treatment inside the prison."Khan's bail plea is on grounds that he was found without any possession of drugs and that he has no association with the others accused in the case. Earlier, the NCB had admitted that drugs weren't found on Khan. The charge for attempting to consume and not even consumption attracts a fine or six months jail time.The accused will remain in judicial custody till they are granted bail, as the lawyers and the NCB advocates are engaged in a fierce legal battle. 86774514A day after the accused was sent to judicial custody, Khan - along with seven co-accused - were sent to the Arthur Road Central Jail in Mumbai on Friday afternoon. The eight accused youngsters underwent a medical test at the Sir J.J. Hospital in the morning same day, before they were taken to the jails by the NCB under tight security.Since their arrest on October 3 - a day after their detention following the rave party raid aboard the Cordelia Cruise ship - they were kept for six nights in the NCB lockup in the central agency's custody, in south Mumbai till they were sent to judicial custody on Thursday by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate R. M. Nerlikar.Meanwhile, NCB has asked film producer Imtiyaz Khatri to appear again before the agency on Monday. 86886915On Saturday, the probing agency conducted searches at his residence and office in Bandra, Mumbai, and questioned the producer for nearly eight hours before the next summon.Khatri's name cropped up during the interrogation of the accused persons, who were earlier arrested in the drugs seizure case, the official said, adding that the NCB has been cracking down on the drug peddlers and suppliers in the metropolis.The NCB also questioned the Khan's driver on Saturday.Based on a tip-off that a party was to take place on board the ship, an NCB team busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship which was on its way to Goa at mid-sea on October 2. A total of 19 persons have been arrested in the case.
